Creation Theatre Company - Arabian Nights
23rd November 2006 to 13th January 2007.
From the Sunday Times.
Creation Theatre adds extra exoticism to Dominic Cooke's original adaptation
for the Young Vic by playing in a yurt-like tent, a UFO landed in the car
park of the company's faithful sponsor, BMW. The audience sit round the
stage, nightclub-style, and there is much tumbling and clowning to keep us
entertained. Good for seven-year-olds and up, Gari Jones's production
suffers from an uncertain music track and a fondness for coarse acting, but
the enthusiastic young performers bring out the redemptive power of
Shahrazad's storytelling.

There's a review in
The Stage ("they've refreshed one of the most beautiful stories in
literature by rediscovering the simple power of traditional narrative with a
twist").
