The Jungle Book, 10th August, 18:00 at Shaw House
Filled with original music, audience interaction, and the chance to meet the characters after the show, you are invited to join Mowgli and his friends, Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, on a madcap jungle adventure as they meet and attempt to outwit a slithering snake, some cheeky monkeys, and the fierce tiger, Shere Khan!. Funny, exciting and wildly entertaining, this larger-than-life musical will have you howling with laughter; the perfect treat for the whole family. Bring your own picnic, warm clothes, seating/rug. The café will be open selling snacks, drinks and ice cream. Suitable for age 4+. Performance approx. 2 hrs including interval.

Get ready for a hilarious and heartwarming journey to the Top of the Wold! Hop aboard the most charmingly quirky mobile library you’ll ever encounter and dive into chapters that teem with the lives of then and now.  This brand-new play, bursting with original songs, invites you to join the East Riding Mobile Library in a celebration of community, culture, caravans, and peas. Via Bempton, Bridlington, Hornsea and Howden, we explore a region barely noticed by the nation it feeds, eroded by the pounding North Sea, can a mobile library – with its complex web of rural stops (and somewhat erratic engine) – pull together the Riding’s finest yarns? From the rolling Wolds to the wild North Sea, discover a place where connection to the land is ingrained, culture is as organic as its produce, and the sea reminds us that we stand on the cliff-edge of a much bigger story. This laugh-out-loud quest through a patchwork of culture and community celebrates the forgotten, the resilient, and the wonderfully eccentric.

Mikron will transport you to the Yorkshire Dales, in a hilarious quest to revive a lost recipe! The stakes are high: the Monks from the Abbey are desperately seeking a living soul to resurrect their traditional Wensleydale cheese. This charming tale promises a gouda time as it immerses you in a world of ghosts, grievances, and glorious cheese. We’ll delve into the rich history of cheese, from its humble beginnings to its place on the most sophisticated platters, featuring a cast of characters who are whey out there. Expect a cheesy plot, a sprinkle of drama, and plenty of fromage-tastic musical numbers. Join us for a slice of the action – it’s going to be a legen-dairy Mikron show.
